It took a couple of tries, but she finally pulled the trigger on one. Nicole's rifle is a .243 remington. She shot this leh doe after a 5 hour hike trailing what we hoped was/were bucks. Fortunately we were 500 m from getting back to the truck. Weighed by the butcher @ 98lbs.(the doe not the wife

At least one of us was able to put some deer in the freezer, as I remain snakebit on bucks .... again! We alternated still hunting and driving back roads, but there were no bucks to be found. We did come across a fellow cleaning a beauty 4 point mulie, I'd guess in the 170-180 class. He got it from a road we'd chosen not to go down a little earlier.
DOH!
Frusterated? Yes, but the season isn't over yet.....
