My season - so far!

Well, it's been one of the luckiest seasons I've ever had. It seems I'm in the right spot at the right time this year! With an empty freezer, my luck showed up just when I needed it.

Started with a young elk in the last 15 minutes of a 2 week hunt:

Then I managed to find my region 8 mulie:

Followed by a region 8 whitetailed doe (my first doe ever) on an after work hunt:

And then I rounded it out with a nice character buck with a drop tine in region 3 on Monday:

The GF and I will be eating well this winter!

Congrats on having some success this season...Buy any lottery tickets?

Looks like some fantastic eating ahead! That young elk especially, should just melt in your mouth..

and this is mine from this year(already posted) but took a pretty good tumble packing it out and now I have to have surgery on my shoulder in January (rotator cuff) and most likely the MCL in my knee. (Didn't mention this in my original thread from September because I was too damn sore lol.)

Three afternoons spent hunting with a friend.

It was worth it and he made a beautiful one-shot kill from ~320 yards.

Smile More meat ...........

First day of my daughter's doe draw. Yearling mule deer doe which was close to 200 pounds!

25 WSSM 100 grain Swift Scirocco launched at 3300 fps, range ~80 yards. Hard quartering away, bullet entered on last 2 ribs and was lodged under the skin on the opposite shoulder. Recovered weight 79 1/2 grains - very close to 80%. Great performance considering impact velocity was ~3150 fps.

Great looking animals KK and 'Boo!

'Boo, I took the elk and both the mulies with 180 gr Sciroccos in my 300 WM - terrific performance and very flat shooting! I've yet to recover a Scirocco from my 300, but the 150s I shoot in my 7mm RM have been nicely petalled and very deadly when I've recovered a couple.

My old Model 88 308 is a bit slow on the twist for Sciroccos, so the trusty old 180 gr CoreLokts anchored my doe.
