What a great hunting trip!!! The four of us had one of the best times ever. My son shot his 2nd whitie . His biggest so far.
Wayne was the luckiest one with one of his biggest mulies & a great white tail on the same hillside, with in 2 hrs of each other. He saw some great bucks befor he had a chance to shoot this great mulie & then while gutting his 1st buck, a big whitie was chasing some mulie does. He ranged it at 417 yards & after the dust cleared the buck was down.
After hunting hard everyday for very long hrs. & turning down numerous 150 - 160 class mulies my son decided to take a nice 3 x 4.
On my 2nd to last day I decided to hunt whities for something different. I managed to shoot a very wide & heavy white tail. My biggest so far.
I was the last one to be holding a mulie tag. I hunted the last day to try & get Mr.Big There was about 1 hr of shooting light left. as I was coming over a crest in the hillside I saw a doe feeding about 250 yards away. There was a nice 4 x 4 buck with her. I decided to try & take him. I crawled my way through the snow to a comfortable shooting position. With my brand new 25-06 tikka t3 light I put the cross hairs on his vitals & Squeezed the trigger. he humped up & slowly walked away. I knew he was hit but I put another one in him to make sure he went down.
