OK I will start.

One bull moose and one 3 x 4 mulie buck in the freezer for me so far this fall.

Heading up into Region 7 tomorrow to try and find another buck. (I hate being cut back to a single buck here in 5 now. ) Hope you guys in Prince George like the new guys playing in your back yard now. LoL

For me I got a 4x3 Mulie here Oct 28, and my buddy got a 2x2 buck his first one. Hell it was his first time loading his gun on a trip, did two guided trips and nothing for deer....

I passed on a monster Moose, I just couldnt bring myself to shooting it, as he was the breeder in the area, some will say I'm nuts for not dropping it. But why? Keep his gean pool going! He was the biggest Moose I've ever seen around my neck of the woods in the Boo.

OK, not a buck but I couldn't pass up this yearling doe on the opening day of the 7A doe season. (And I really wanted to try my new 250 Savage on a deer. )

I was up at 4:00am this morning and on the road by 5:00. I crossed into Region 7A about 6:30am and headed up towards a cutblock my wife and I had scouted a few weeks ago.

I parked the truck, drank the last of my coffee and loaded up and started working the bush line beside the block right at daybreak. I had only still-hunted for a couple hundred yards before I saw this doe 120 yards away above me in the block working her way towards the timber. I debated for a bit and them decided a deer in the hand was worth 2 in the bush and chambered a round in the Ruger M77 RSI. (The fact it was all downhill to the truck also had a lot to do with the decision to shoot! LoL)

The deer was a fair bit above me when I shot and even though I held low the shot still was a bit high and took out the spine. The tiny 110 grain Nosler Accubond plowed clear through however and dropped the doe in her tracks. The good news is it looks like I lost less than a pound of meat

After cutting my tag I dragged the deer whole back to the trail, took some pictures, and proceeded to gut and load the doe. She went 140 pounds (on my hanging scale) eviscerated and had a good amount of fat on her frame. She was as I suspected 1 1/2 years old without a fawn.

All in all a pretty good morning.

Arrow

Literally POUNDING the Island this year, trying my best to collect a Big Blacktail.
Came close a couple times on one particular bugger, but he is damn elusive and has a hell of a lot of LUCK working for him.

Mis-ID'd this fellow as the Biggie (@ 250 plus) which fell to a single through the heart:

Mixed feelings on this one, definitely one of the better ones I have taken, but... Hurt understanding he wasn't the Big Boy I've been chasing for better than a month!!

Oh well, another tag still to go, and a lot of days too...

Cheers,
Iron

Springers Stuff

Well its been a long time since i posted so heres what I have been up to this year. I went out for a Spring trip for Bear and Fishing for Sturgeon with Srupp and Leaseman (MIKE). No Bears but did catch my first Sturgeon.

My First Big Game Hunt was for Goat and I took a friend shot a nice Billy, ended up as a Unicorn

Mostly Pheasant Hunts after that. Heres opening day.

I Took SX2 out for his first pheasants and he used his 28 Gauge and broke it in.

I bought a Bow again and went out to find a Muley. I saw Mostly Moose but did fire an Arrow at a 4 point and , well guess i never got him but had so much fun.

Took my son out opening day for deer and my Uncle got a Whitetail Doe and this average Buck.

I took Dad out for his 75th Birthday for his Pheasant Hunt then down to Bass Pro for some fun.

Its been fun so far but the real hunting starts When Steve gets here at the end of the Month...
Cheers and good luck to all.
