Yes it is a bitch.

There is still "hang" issues with the forum when I try and log in and to tell the truth it takes me close to a half-hour every night to delete all the shit.

I have tried - without success - to contact the owner of this site for the last 6 months but he seems to have dropped off the face of the earth. I don`t have administration rights so I am helpless to either change the new member registration procedure or investigate the reason for the slowness when accessing the forum from certain ISPs like Telus.

Now with all that said .........................

I have a new forum in testing mode as we speak. I like the group that we have here and would like to invite anyone interested to try it out. It does not have all the bells and whistles but it is ad-free and does require individual approval for registration. (No spam-bots allowed!)

Anyone wishing see the new forum can go to: http://hunting-western-canada.com/si...orum/index.php

17 members in the first day!

As I mentioned I want to approve all members myself to keep the spam at bay. If someone applies and doesn't get approval within 12 hours please send me a PM here or to GunNutz where my screen-name is 'Boo

Rifleman and Toxic, you are both now showing as registered members.

I also want to mention that in order to keep a bit of privacy all the subforums, other than the welcome one, are not view-able by guests.

Suggestions on how to improve the new site are also welcome.

'Boo

That was probably user error on my part Toxic.

There are 4 different actions I can take when receiving a membership request.

Approve member

Approve and send email

Approve, send email and require email verification.

Reject

I just registered another name and got one email after I applied and another when it was approved.

I just registered with the name Josh J, same as here. Hopefully it goes through. I'm not a spammer, but haven't had a ton of interaction on this forum due to the problems in recent months. Hope to see you soon at the other site!
