Why is this site less popular than the other?

Just curious. Seems to be a group of decent, intelligent folks around this campfire. I hope the popularity increases. I can't stand the other site. Lots of distasteful comments, whining, jealousy, bickering, showboating, poor manners, and huge volumes of unintelligent comments.

In the past I, and several others, were able to spend the time leading discussions and keeping things moving along. Simply put I don't have the spare time to do much of that any more.

Also, I have always run this site so that anyone from newbies, women, to very experienced hunters and shooters could feel free to interact and ask questions or offer advice without fear of being belittled or attacked by some of the jackasses who cruise these types of forums. Some people don't like those rules so they simply go elsewhere.

The reason for that is because the other site has over 8000 members, you have a better chance of encountering an idiot there due to sheer numbers.I`v been here for a long time, don`t know why it has declined.

Boo,

You hit the nail on the head, this site doesn't have the babies as the other.. Plus the mods here don't play favor, as some site or sites, as the Mods are the ones stirring the Cr@p pot then find behind there Mod powers..... Wonder if I will get PM'd like before from other site Mods crying to me... Or better yet have there Mods come over here and Cry to Cariboo..... (Suck it up you big hairy Baby) Is it your bottle time

Also the other sites some members think that they are King Cr@p, as no one knows how to hunt other then them!!!!!!!!!!!

Boo does a super job of running this site, and it is great for anyone, women, children, newbies, etc..It's nice to have threads that don't digress into pi$$ing contests, and un-warranted criticism.
I think this site is fairly popular still, but tends to get lurkers, rather than posters. We need more members posting threads to get the ball rolling.

The controversy's and occasional bickering, may be part of the popularity of the "other" site, as weird as that is. Some mods there are a little overzealous in using their personal idealisms to control posts, from what I have seen..which can make things a bit lop-sided..

Yes I agree. I was reading the threads that guys posted with pics of thier harvested nanny goats and illegal sheep. Turned into a real mudslinging fest. Very, very educational threads and the moderators either locked them or purged the contents.

Many pompous characters over there that only wish to promote thier own personal or pet agendas.

First site I found when I started big game hunting 6 years ago. People were very helpful. P17 suggested, most politely, that my pre-64 M70 30.06 was worth keeping when I was pondering its usefulness.

Reasonable discussion is not as popular as mudslinging, pissing contests.

The most pompous character over there is also over here...but he has to remain on much better better behaviour over here

Yeah, and he has to follow the dress code over here, unlike the way he dresses "over there"...
