Swede 6.5x55 Mauser for sale. It is a 96/38 with a 23.1 inch barrel

The original m/38 rifles (Type I) were converted m/96 rifles with barrels cut down by 5.5" (139mm) and almost always with the original straight bolt handles. These rifles are often referred to by collectors as "m/96-38" rifles, but there was never an official designation for this conversion.

The numbers are matching. It is a 1901 Carl Gustavs made into an M38. It has a straight not a curved bolt. Very tight slick action.

It used to have a sight height extension glued (JB Weld) on the front sight that broke off. It'll shoot high now. The front sight appears to have been tack welded into the dove tail. Minor crack behind the tang.
